BLOCK OUT DATE 01ST NOV 2009 - 15TH MARCH 2010 FOR BORNEO RAINFOREST LODGE RENOVATION

Searching for orang utans in the wild is immensely a thrilling experience for people from all walks of life. While every effort is made to organize your tour with nominal impacts on the orang utans and its habitats, we realized there is dire need to consider the surge of deforestation and growing concerns on the shrinking population of orang utans. As part of our commitments, we encourage our guests to adopt an orang utan at Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre, wherein fund raised from the adoption will be used for various orang utans conservation projects.

Electricity is supplied by acoustic generator, and hot water by solar heaters. All rooms are twin bedded, with ceiling fan, mosquito netting, attached bathroom, hot shower and toilets. River tours are conducted by boats powered by electric motors and four stoke outboard engines.

Birdlife is especially rich here including eight species of hornbills, kingfishers, egrets, darters, owls, kites, eagles, broadbills, doves, storm storks, herons, hawks, ospreys, falcon, pheasants, parakeets, bee eaters, woodpeckers, pittas, bulbuls, forktails, babblers, warblers, flycatchers, orioles, flowerpeckers, spiderhunters, among others.

Note: Borneo Eco Tours has continuously supported the efforts of WWF in preserving the natural floodplains of Kinabatangan, and now we will set aside a small amount of RM 20 from your Tour Package towards WWF's Conservation Levy, which will be channeled into the conservation and protection of Kinabatangan's flora and fauna.
