We're grateful for another year and 2017 was by far, one of the best year for us. And we're ecstatic to find out what's in store for us this year.
Here are just some updates from last year:
We have gone through some major renovation works and upgrading since 2016 and finally, we now have the Borneo Villas as a luxurious accommodation option for guests. The villas have an exquisite Bornean touch and ambiance to them, from its fine architecture design, down to the smallest wood carving details. Equipped with air-conditioning, the villas are also 60% larger than our existing superior rooms, making it an ideal accommodation for parents with littles ones.
Guests have the option of a king-sized bed or twin-sharing. On top of that, each villa also has its own private balcony for guests to step out to and enjoy the fresh-air and nature scenes. Our Borneo Villas are now open for booking, and guests can now enjoy luxury and the wilderness hand-in-hand during their stay here.
Besides that, guests can take a stroll at the newly built David Attenborough Boardwalk while listening to nature’s soothing orchestra. There are also chances of spotting wildlife in the surrounding forests, including orangutans! Do keep a lookout for our resident orangutans Lucky and Day who comes by to say hello once in a while.
Sukau Rainforest Lodge has also extended its Melapi Restaurant/Jetty to provide guests with a more spacious and comfortable dining experience. At Melapi Restaurant/Jetty, guests can savour the beautiful scenery of Kinabatangan River while they're having their meal or enjoying a cold beer.
If you want to experience Sabah Borneo at its grandest and make unforgettable memories, come stay with us at Sukau Rainforest Lodge!

The Sukau Rainforest Lodge family would like to congratulate and welcome Dr. Arthur Chung as our latest Conservation Fellow! Born in Sandakan Sabah, Dr. Arthur Chung is a Senior Researcher at the Forest Research Centre, Sepilok of the Sabah Forestry Department, and we are honoured to have him as a guest at our lodge just recently. This special recognition is given to him for his significant contribution in entomology and forest conservation here in Sabah, which is definitely an inspiration to us all. Our Managing Director Albert Teo recently paid him a visit at his office to present to him a plaque of Appointment as Sukau Rainforest Lodge's Conservation Fellow.
The ever bright Dr. Arthur Chung, together with his lovely wife took some time out of their busy schedules to stay at Sukau Rainforest Lodge on the 29th of July 2017. To honour Dr. Arthur as our Conservation Fellow, we have tributed one of our new Villas to him and both him and his wife officiated the room during a ribbon cutting ceremony. Besides that, Dr. Arthur was more than happy to do a talk on entomology during his stay to other guests and the lodge team titled "Insect Diversity of the Bornean Rainforests". The talk was super insightful and intriguing not only for those who are interested in entomology, but also those who are very new to it.
A big thank you to Dr. Arthur Chung and wife for allowing us to host your stay with us and congratulations for making it onto our Conservation Fellow Wall of Honour!
