Sukau Rainforest Lodge is committed to ensuring the Personal Data you share with us is secured. The Personal Data that we may need from you includes but is not limited to the following list:

The Personal Data or any other Information with regards to your personal details should be provided by you or someone on your behalf who you have personally authorised to make or inquire about a booking from us. We obtain Client’s consent by:
- Written permission via email, online booking form, fax, mail, social media;
- Third-Party consent (i.e. from the travel agent on your behalf, or the passenger/traveller booking on your behalf to whom you have provided your Personal Data or information for such purpose);
- Verbal permission
The Purpose of Collecting Your Personal Data
Personal Data that we have collected shall be used for:
- Making your travel, accommodation and tour bookings
- Determining your eligibility for the products and services
- Providing you with customer service and support
- Ensuring your safety and security throughout your time with us
- Preparing your travel itinerary, invoice and also processing transactions

- Improving our services, product offerings and contents
- Providing updates, analysing site usage and trends
- Carrying out the internal accounting of our business

How is Your Personal Data Protected?
Sukau Rainforest Lodge respects the security and integrity of your Personal Data. We do not share any of our client’s personal data publicly or with third parties, except when the law requires it.
The data that we have collected from you will only be retained for as long as necessary to provide you with the service you have requested from us. However, you may provide your Personal Data to us again on the occasion that it has been deleted.
As our Client, all your Personal Data is stored in protected databases at addresses that are secure to prevent unauthorised access, which are protected by encryption mechanism, firewalls and passwords. However, data that is transmitted over the internet cannot be guaranteed to be fully secured. Although we take every step to ensure that your Personal Data is protected, please take caution when you transmit your Personal Data over the Internet.
The access to your personal and private data is limited to only the authorised employees of Borneo Eco Tours, and also any of the Third-Party suppliers who require your information for the travel services and other services you have requested for. This includes any services you purchase through Borneo Eco Tours or services that we arrange on your behalf such as transportation services, hotel and other accommodations, tour activities, special diet requirements, and tour guides.
If you do not consent to the use of your personal data for receiving any Borneo Eco Tours services and marketing materials, kindly inform us and we will proceed to remove your details from our systems. In not doing so, we take it that you confirm that you agree and accept the terms in our Personal Data Privacy notice.
How Long Will My Personal Data Be Kept in the System?
Your Personal Data will be kept no longer than necessary, which means that we will retain your Personal Data information until we have no more use for it.
Typically, all Personal Data will be stored until the end of a tour, or when our service is no longer needed by the Client. However, it is necessary for us to retain certain information especially for the purpose of carrying out our internal accounting report. This can last up to seven years due to government requirements for the Revenue Department. There is also a possibility of retaining Client’s booking information for up to 10 years for possible claims.

- Birth date
Any other information from the ones mentioned above will be deleted from our systems.
What If I Fail to Provide My Personal Data?
We may not be able to deliver and provide you with the services you requested for should you fail to provide us with the Personal Data that we requested from you. This will also lead to your transaction with us being incomplete, which will prevent you from taking part on tours and transfers, as well as purchasing items from our store.
If you have paid a deposit in advance but later refuse to provide us with the necessary information or Personal Data which we request from you to enable us to process the booking (e.g. tour package(s) which requires your passport details), we will be unable to proceed and may need to cancel your booking. A refund, however, will be then given to you based on our cancellation terms.

Your Personal Data is not collected unless you have provided it to us. This means that you can still contact us or visit and browse our website without having to provide your information to us.
Will I Be Able to Access My Information? Whom Do I Contact?
As our Client, you can request access to, or the right to view, update, and/or correct your Personal Data, with subject to certain limitations. To do this, email us or fill up our online contact form on our website at Sukau.com.
