Situated directly beside the Kinabatangan River, Sukau Rainforest Lodge was created to give guests an immersive way to experience one of Sabah’s most celebrated wildlife destinations.
River cruises form the heart of many stays. Each journey offers something different, shaped by the weather, the season and the movement of wildlife through the forest. Guests may encounter proboscis monkeys resting beside the river, hornbills crossing overhead, orangutans moving through the canopy or pygmy elephants appearing unexpectedly along the riverbank.
Between cruises, the experience continues at the lodge. Guests can explore the Hornbill Boardwalk, spend time overlooking the river or simply listen to the sounds of the surrounding rainforest.
