SUKAU RAINFOREST LODGE TO UPGRADE FACILITIES

It may sound like we’ve gone mad when we delightfully announce the part-closure of the multi award winning Sukau Rainforest Lodge (SRL) come January 2010. As a matter of fact, everyone at the Borneo Eco Tours and the Sukau Rainforest Lodge looks forward to it in positive anticipation.

“Why?” I hear you ask.

Well, for once, after many years of operation and many more sweet blessings left behind by guests that have shared the unique Borneo jungle experience, the Sukau Rainforest Lodge will undergo a facelift of major proportion which would completely transform this once humble jungle lodge into a premium lodging experience deep in the wilderness of Borneo.

A sure issue would be about Green Policies which has been the stronghold of the Sukau Rainforest Lodge all these years. Would SRL abandon its modus operandi to become ‘like the rest’?

Well, we have tackled this issue ever since the inception of the idea, and have therefore meticulously planned, reviewed and improved the plan again to almost perfection. Upon completion, the lodge would be greatly uplifted, integrating the modern comforts of living with state-of-the-art green technology. We are indeed lucky that the world has progressed tremendously towards the development of eco-friendly technology as it has made planning and selection a lot easier.

The new Sukau Rainforest Lodge would offer guests added facilities which could tremendously enhance their experience. For instance, the one and only Borneo Jungle Conference Room would be made in tandem with the Lodge’s renovation and would cater to smaller incentive groups of 40 pax. While as a bonus, the lodge would also have a separate building dedicated to Spa, so that guests can enjoy a relaxing massage, smack in the middle of wild-Borneo. Fabulous!

Commencing in January 2010, construction work would be undertaken in stages and based on a strict time schedule. At most, disturbance to guests would be limited, if not avoided, as most building material would be pre-fabricated at the factory for easy assembly at site. Where certain work areas would be closed down, others would in turn relieve the functions of the former, such as the lounge, dining area, the library etc. The whole project would be made in such speed and stealth, that room completion and launching has been scheduled for June 2010.

For guest wishing to stay at the Sukau Rainforest Lodge within this period, we are offering a package of exceptional value which will never be matched in a 10-year period. Why we are doing this is because in the spirit of goodwill we must continue our conservation efforts with the WWF and KiTA and educate visitors from throughout the globe.

Alternatively, we can also make your preferred arrangement through a parallel lodge operator in the same area for the same tour packages at a slightly higher price. Either way, you can decide after contacting our member of staff who would be more than happy to discuss with you on the rates and packages.
